From October 17th to 20th, 2018, the "2018 National Blast Furnace Ironmaking Academic Annual Conference" hosted by the China Metallurgy Ironmaking Branch "Innovation drives technological progress and strives to achieve low-carbon green ironmaking" was held in Xi'an Xi'an Hotel was held. 　　The "National Academic Conference on Blast Furnace Ironmaking" is a grand ironmaking event jointly held by the former "Medium and Small Blast Furnace Academic Annual Meeting" and "Blast Furnace Academic Annual Meeting". This year's conference focuses on hot issues in the ironmaking industry, and jointly discusses high-efficiency, low-consumption, long-life, green, and intelligent ironmaking production technologies and the latest scientific and technological achievements in the new situation.

　　On October 18, Wang Tianyi, expert committee of the Chinese Metal Society, and Chen Minfeng, deputy secretary of the party committee and chairman of the union of Shaanxi Iron and Steel Group, addressed the meeting. Deputy Secretary of Shaanxi Iron and Steel Group, on behalf of his group, extended a warm welcome to the participants, analyzed and prospected the current steel situation, emphasized that the transformation and upgrading of ironmaking technology is a key concern, advocated extensive exchanges, deepened exchanges, and exchanged views. Learn from each other's strengths and seek for improvement.

　　The conference is ongoing. The meeting will also arrange Professor Yang Tianjun, chairman of the Ironmaking Branch, to give a keynote speech, and invite a number of experts and professors from enterprises and universities to make special reports on ironmaking production and technology development. The conference organized a number of branch venues to exchange papers on iron smelting raw fuel, blast furnace operation, blast furnace longevity, resources and environmental protection. In addition, a forum of iron makers was arranged for experts to answer questions.
